Data the app uses
With your Oura authorization, the app reads battery levels, timestamps, charging status and ring details, including model, size, setup information and firmware. It uses these to display history and calculate estimates on your iPhone. With the separate Email permission, the app also reads your Oura email address to identify the connected account in Settings. This optional address is kept in app memory, is not sent to our sign-in service, and is cleared when you disconnect. Battery features work without it. The app does not request sleep, activity, heart-rate or location data. There are no advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not sell your data.
Storage and sign-in
Battery data travels directly from Oura to your device. Saved history, ring details and the ring profiles and usage dates you enter stay on the device until you disconnect or delete the app; they are file-protected and excluded from backups. Sign-in credentials are protected in the device-only iOS Keychain. The app no longer collects connection diagnostic entries; files left by earlier private-test versions are removed on startup or disconnect.
You sign in on Oura’s website; we never receive your password. Cloudflare hosts our sign-in service. It exchanges and renews access credentials but does not receive battery readings. Authorization records expire within ten minutes and encrypted, single-use credential handoffs within one minute; used records are deleted and expired records are normally removed within a further 15 minutes. Credential handoffs are encrypted. Deleted records may remain in Cloudflare recovery backups for up to 30 days.
Short-lived, hashed IP addresses help prevent abuse. Our service does not keep request logs, but Cloudflare processes network metadata to operate and secure its infrastructure.
Purchases, exports and support
The TestFlight beta does not request payments, check purchase transactions or start a timed app trial. CSV and PDF exports are created locally and shared only when you choose. Temporary exports older than 24 hours are cleared when a new export is prepared. Copies you save or share elsewhere remain there.
If you email support, Google processes your email and any attachments. We keep the correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and any related dispute.
Your choices and rights
Demo mode needs no Oura connection. To clear saved history, credentials, ring details and generated exports, open Settings → Oura account → Disconnect. To revoke future access, open the Oura app → Settings → App Integrations → Ring Battery Monitor and revoke access. These actions do not delete your Oura account.
We process connected data to provide the service under our contract with you. Security and support rely on our legitimate interests in protecting the service and answering requests. You control Oura authorization and can revoke it at any time. Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or to object to processing. You can also complain to a data protection authority, including Finland’s Data Protection Ombudsman.
Service providers and this website
Oura supplies ring data, Cloudflare hosts sign-in and the website, Apple provides iOS and TestFlight, and Google handles support email. Our older support pages may remain available on GitHub, which logs visitors’ IP addresses for security. We add no tracking scripts or cookies to this website. Providers may process data outside the EEA under the safeguards described in their policies: Oura, Cloudflare, Apple, Google and GitHub.
